Two truths…

Pain hurts.

If you’ve been struggling with chronic or persistent pain, you’re frustrated. Pain interrupts everything in your life: your relationships, your activity level, your sleep, your peace of mind. And you’ll probably do ANYTHING to get out of pain and back to your normal life.

Pain is a message.

A lot of the strategies we use to deal with pain (icing, painkillers, surgeries) help us numb out and ignore the communication our bodies are trying to send us. Your body is infinitely intelligent. When there is pain, there’s always a very good reason for that pain…and our job is to figure out what that reason is, and respond intelligently and kindly.

And so many lies…

“Doctors have all the answers.”
“Surgery is the only solution.”
“You just need more rest and less stress.”
“You just have to live with it.”

I’ve been practicing bodywork for over 20 years, and I’ve witnessed the incredible intelligence of the body, and the body’s even more incredible capacity to heal. Your system WANTS to find balance. It wants to find peace.

But if you’re running away from the important messengers of pain and emotion, you’re not going to find balance and peace.

So we heal by turning TOWARDS the pain—by turning towards ourselves.

We start to get very curious about the mind-body connection, and we start excavating any thoughts, beliefs, emotions, or relationships that may be energetically contributing to your pain.

And once we dredge up some of that content…we release it. We use breath work, toning, Emotional Freedom Technique, and so many other wonderful tools to move that stuck energy through us and out of us, so that we can finally find that balance and peace.
